Information about the Srinivaspura mangoes
Srinivaspur is the mango larder of Kolar district which has earned the pride of being the Asia’s largest mango producing districts.
All most land near Srinivaspura was fully with mango trees.The Srinivaspura land was fully supported by the climate.
Mangos are cultivated on a wast expanse of area of 22,325 hectares of land in the district and the fruits are of export quality.
Inspite of various credits to its basket,the taluk has not be able to provide an effecient market system for the mangoes provided there.
The space inside the APMC is just not sufficient for the mango market.Some of the middle man have also
established stalls out side its premises.
All those involved in the bussiness have been strictly warned to follow all the APMC rules and guidelines in toto.
All the workers are instructed strictly by the market government of Karnataka.
This year,about 2.36tonnes of fruits are expected to arrive in the market.About 1.36tonnes of fruits will be sent to mango processing units.The remaining fruits will be sold on a daily basis.Quantities of fruits to be sold daily will be fixed, ‘he said.
Nagesh said that the sales of mangoes would last for six weeks.There was no permission for trucks from outside states.Measures would be tightened at checkpoints in the district border.

The MP said that the sales would take place between 07:00 am and 11:00 am daily.The district administration would take the required measures to ensure safety and seacurity.Deputy commissioner C Satyabhama said,”passes will be given to the truck drivers and cleaners.”
It has been years since land was identified for a pulping industry in Srinivaspur-the states mango town in kolar district.The town,bordering Andhra Pradesh and around 90 Kilometers from Bengaluru,produces the largest quantity of mangoes in south india.
An offical in Horticulture department in Srinivaspur said many request to setup a pulping industry have been in vain.Officials said that when S M Krishna was cheif minister,50 Acres of gomala land was identified in Somayajalapalli in Srinivaspur taluk,for setting up the state’s first pulping industry.But till date,things have not moved further.
