Srinivaspur is a town located in the Kolar district of Karnataka state, India.
The name Srinivaspur derives from Shree, a word for Vishnu the deity, and place of residence. There is a belief that Vishnu, who stayed there for some time, once visited the area. The town was also known as Vanavasapura in earlier days, and even earlier when it was a small village, as Papanapalli.
During the summertime the climate is dry and humid. Total rainfall is 722 mm (28.4 in), slightly below the district total. On average, the taluk gets 55 days of rain annually.
Horticulture is the major agricultural, manual laboured, mango cultivation-oriented occupation and the only place in the world where all 63 mango species are found. The taluk is often referred to as Mango City, and is Karnataka ‘s largest mango producer
